Russian Words In English Letters BACK

One of the Russian popular online magazine The Village decided to make the experiment: Is it easy for foreigners to read Russian words (written in English letters). The editors of Wallpaper magazine (British magazine about architechure and design) were asked to read some Russian words like names of metrostations, shops, markets and others. Since 2012 Moscow goverment is trying to make Moscow friendly place for tourists and put a lot of signs that has got Russian names in English letters.

Despite Moscow has got hotline for tourists (+7-800-220-0002 — English-speaking operators, there is a possibility of contact with operators who speak more in German, French, Chinese, Spanish), the city center has got dual languages signs (Russian words in English letters), and also you can find some volunteers in city that are ready to help, Moscow is still not very friendly for many tourists. To understand what is for foreigners to read Russian phrases in English letters The Village made the experiment - asked people from diffirent countries to read Russian words spelled in English letters
